![]() ![]() Audiences don't care how fancy of a controller you have, but they do care how the music sounds, so I invested in a top quality audio interface when I started DJing. I've used my RME Babyface Pro with every controller I've had over the years (Electrix Tweaker, Hercules P32, Xone K2, now Kontrol S4 Mk3). , do you use your RME interface with a particular controller?Ī great aspect of having a dedicated audio interface is that you can change controllers and not think about the quality of the audio interface. Not sure about any of the new technology they've thrown on to the MK3. I've serviced faders, rotary pots, and broken USB ports. I also think the screens and rotating platter of possibly going out will be bigger headaches in the future. But I can't justify the cost and the bells and whistles to get an MK3 for myself. Mixer FX buttons (when I use an s4, I convert the filter to a EQ low so that way I can use a 4 band EQs like a 92).Īll of this is obviously personal preference, and four channel input and a better sound card is great. The microphone now has to take one of the channels on your controller. The fact that it's no longer USB bus powered, and requires a power supply in order to work.To be honest, a lot of features on the MK3 kind of turns me off and discourages me from picking it up.
